Poem Artwork

Consider proportion
the sum of balance
in it's measure
the alchemy of man's beauty
the mechanics of matter

Stunned at first sight
by our mother's face
the devotion of her gaze
we seek her graceful equasion
in all we see and create

The elegance of movement
from bone and sinew
the cover
of finely sculpted flesh
bewitches our eyes

But what of the soul
the mystery
under soft layer of skin
the light that emanates
from the flesh?

What is that light that fades
with our last breath?
What is the source of our soul
the mechanism
that guides our spirit?

What secrets lay
beyond the surface of skin
prohibited from our sight?
These I intend to discover
reveal through pen and brush

They said the earth is flat
that we would fall from the edge
encounter horrors unknown
The real horror
is in the need for control

We decide what to seek from the list of things we are taught to seek and we learn to choose our lovers from those placed in front of us to love. What we fail to learn to seek and to love and to try to understand is ourselves. I don't think our existence revolves around higher powers. I think that we are the highest power. We just have to realize that. The beauty of this life is us. Pierre.

it is in questioning, we become enlightened to the unknown

the question that comes to mind: since truth is manipulated by the need to control how do we discover what we have only been told? of course, this a rhetorical question. truth is a relative term and fashioned only by power, unless we remember the truth within ourselves, then all else is inconsequential ...

extremely intelligent poem, Linda ...

I think you hit the nail on the head in this whole Da Vinci drama now playing out, as long as man and woman was created with curiosity and the ability to reason someone has tried to control that very thought process and the church has played a huge part in keeping minds diminished and in the dark.

Outstanding Linda, this has been crafted in divine proportion using the sacred geometry of the written word, and a superb mind. Saver!

A metaphysical inquiry of profound depth and engaging enchantment. Reads as if the poet's soul itself is whispering truth from between illuminated brows. An exceptional write.

Outstanding Lin! Bottom Line no one can clone, create, duplicate,
or in any other way design the soul! This is God's alone and no man will ever control or understand it...Everyone should also remember the Davinci code is FICTION! Good to see you tackle this Lin, you are missed!

We can control somple things and some times very difficult equations but when God gave us a soul it will shine for all eternity if we follow His way.Death does not cast a shadow on it unless it is with the damned.

A superb metaphysical pen that contemplates on the workings and mystery of the soul.....and the last stanza is a bolt from the blue...reminded me of dear Jerry Bolton's Bolt...
Where is he these days ...:)

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
