A personal sharing. I wrote this poem in 2007 before we found out my husband has Alzheimers too....( Now I don't know what will happen to us) We still have time left to do things we want to do..
I'll take care of you he said
I'll never let you down
I'll walk through life by your side
with a smile and not a frown
I'll take care of you he said
I'll love you through the years
I'll be your constant companion,
wipe away your tears
I'll take care of you he said
as we become old and gray
I'll love you forever
as we go along life's way
I'll take care of you he said
when you don't know me any more
I'll bathe and feed you,
as you slip away from life's shore
I'll be with you he said
until life's unknowing end
I'll always be your husband,
protecter and best friend

This is really beautiful, MaryGrace. To know you are loved and not alone is probably a blessing that millions of people would give about anything for. Take joy in that love and keep your faith that God is ever present in your life as you take one day at a time, enjoying each minute and all you do.
You two are in my prayers always but it is good to read things like this too. He must be a super man to put words together like these and mean them. May the Good Lord bless thee and keep thee together always and may your illness be taken care of by loving each other and staying together and hoping for the best always in life.
