Poem Artwork

iconocentric,
theoria,
metaphor
taken from
the visual
sphere,

imitationalism,
aesthetic theory
of art, placing
emphasis on
literal qualities
and realistic
representation,

considered successful
when it reminds the
audience what is seen
in the real world.

I watch
architecture
rise,

kneeling caryatid
in front of me,
I carry her
pillar,

opaque milky
casein impasto
she paints inside me
a thick application like
Vincent Van Gogh

Very good, Sage. I've had this music stuck in my head off and on since I watched an Indie film where the artist played it while he painted...

"painting is silent poetry...poetry painting that speaks"...that has always been a favorite quote of mine and this splendid compositon illustrates that on so many levels. Excellent work, Sage

Amazing picture! I'm so glad that the picture has given you the inspirations to write. I like both the picture and the poem!

Look Away Silence by Edward Patterson
