Many are still very emotionally wounded when it comes to recalling the events of 9-11. The ONLY chapel that should be built now is an ALL FAITHS Chapel. I used to work at the USAF Academy and they have one of the most beautiful chapels in the world. They accommodate ALL faiths: Jews and Muslims, Catholics and Protestants. To build anything less than the example used at the USAF Academy would add salt to any wound. However, an all faiths center or chapel - NOT a Mosque - would be a true blessing especially if it is funded by the US government. This poem should appeal to our five senses - everyone of our senses was effected during 9-11. So when it comes to sensitivity - people from ALL walks of life need to be considerate of each other. America is a melting pot NOT a dividing lot! Wake up U.S.A.!

Hear Nine Eleven! Wake up and hear the people. They are shouting out! Taste Nine Eleven! Wake up and taste the metal. It’s the taste of hell! See Nine Eleven! Wake up and see our children. See them as they fall. Smell Nine Eleven! Wake up and smell the people. They were burned alive! Feel Nine Eleven! Wake up; feel the hurt and pain! Wake up U.S. A.! OH I felt it already. . .on a couple levels! And I fell that, unfortunately, it is going to take more than that and Katrina...etc., for most of us to start listening to our hearts more deeply ad helping each other more completely.

John, you have such honor in your words. I feel strongly about what happened to our country on 9-11, but honestly, I feel that they should not build anything there..I need to remember the people that were lost in my own way, not a place to go to, to do this...I personally will not go there no matter what is erected. It is still much to painful for me. I am very sensitive to the spirits of all those who lost their lives that day, I do not want to disturb their peace. We should just let things be....

I suppose all of that is true. But I still think it is a travesty and insult to build a mosque so close to where that awful thing too place. Call me prejudice if you well, I can't help my feelings.
