Forgiveness is the hardest thing we can do when another has trespassed against us. To some people it is harder to do than pulling teeth. I have seen some, including those in my family, who will carry a grudge for years. For one thing forgiving or apologizing seems to go against the natural course of human behavior. That is where the moral framework of religion helps to alter this natural human behavior. Children who are not constrained by rules will act in a sometimes cruel or indifferent manner towards everyone if they don't have the parameters on behavior that a good parent puts in place. God also has placed parameters on behavior on us all. These rules are for our own and everyone elses good. Our better natures are best served by the rules of God. Forgiveness is essential, just as all the rules he puts on us are. Your verse here is a good check on our morality. Thank you for making that evident John. Bob
