It is now a battle for who is THE MOST corrupt person(s)in power. Truth be known, all have fallen short. Truth is also that we can change our own neighborhoods and make them better. Why wait for these clowns in charge? We may be waiting forever!

The fall of Rome? The end of an era? The end of greatness? The start ADP? "America's Dream Passing-over" or The rebuilding of Rome? The beginning of a new? Great things made new? The beginning of AND? "America's New Dream" Which path are we on? It depends on the cup. Is it half-full? Is it half-empty? We see more homeless in the street. but... We see more programs to help the homeless. We see people looking for a good job. but... We see more job opportunities available. We see violence in our streets. but... We see neighbors helping each other. What will it be? What will we do? Do we Do something or... Do we just WAIT and SEE? It all up to US. U & ME. Peace be with you… Amen

Your poem sends a strong message about how we tend to rally toward leaders rather than living our lives more exemplary. I have always led a rather frugal, conservative lifestyle compared to most. But I tend toward helping others less fortunate than I who would have fallen through the cracks that society provides for them to fall into.

Yes, with all the controversy and corruption at the top of our governmental structure, we definitely need to continue to work toward the "thousand points of light" that former Pres. George HW Bush suggested. The very very rich under the guidance of the likes of Warren Buffett and Bill Gates are also doing their part.

It may not be enough, but at least it gives people in the country some hope that we can do things with our own bootstraps while not relying on big government to do them for us.

When a leader has good intention to unite and form a good nation, it will be up to the people to follow the good intention. Sadly, there are some who are just unwillingly to be united. Win or lose?...It will be up to the people. They are the ones who hold their own future in their hands.

Change starts at home, but we really need leaders who bring out the best in us. Leaders who can unite us, and work together for the common good. I can only hope that we can recover our dignity that's sorely lacking today.
