We will grow younger in our later years if we spend quality time with the youth in our community.

The joys of youth can be lived again We seniors have so much to share All it takes is a little time and effort Show them love, show them you care! Over ten years ago we started visiting boys in a camp They're in a foster home; many have no moms or dads The community could ignore them like they don't exist That could leave them isolated and would be very sad So we formed a team to visit and make them meals We come from all walks of life to spend quality time with the boys We laugh, we smile, we make memories that last for miles Sharing and caring, praying and spending time brings us all much joy! I still recall times in my youth when my coach spent time with me He gave us sermons on how we should be the BEST we could be! That made a huge impact on my life and made me what I am today It's love and compassion that makes all the difference along the way! Amen! by John Michael Domino 6/9/2018

WHERE WERE YOU WHEN MY BABY BOY NEEDED SOME OF THIS? WHEN I TRIED, THE BIG BROTHERS WERE FILLED AND WE WERE PUT ON A WAITING LIST, WHICH NEVER CAME THROUGH AND THEN, WHEN I SORT HELP FROM THE AUTHORITIES I WAS TOLD BY THEM THAT THEY HAD NO INTERVENTION FOR A PRE-TEEN TROUBLED JUVENILE...HE HAD TO COMMIT A LEGAL-AGE CRIME FOR THEM TO STEP IN...WHICH, IN TIME, HE DID, IN FACT, QUITE A FEW OF THEM. Thanks for your story. I hope you are encouraging others to get out there and do something. When I retired I immediately contacted two or three places where I felt I could be of great assistance as a volunteer. Unfortunately, none of those places accepted me, probably thinking that I would be more trouble than value. Since then whenever I encounter young people, I tried to engage them in conversation. Unfortunately, many young people seem very engaged in their cell phones and games and don't want to listen to me.

I would be more persistent like I was in younger days, but I find it harder to get dressed and go out these days, especially since I gave up driving a year ago.
