Because I love trees and appreciate their value, I wrote this to share with other tree lovers

THE LONELY TREE

On a hill stood
a lonely tree
Waiting a long time
for someone to come
to share the thrill
of the lonely tree

The egales would nest
and give birth
to the best
The symbol of
America
no less

But one who
was more lonely
than he
Took the life
of the tree

For so selfish
an act
It was you see
No little ones
would play
under this tree

Nor would it bring
shade to the earth
by it's birth
The tree no longer
stands alone on the hill

And there's
no one to
share the thrill
of the lonely
tree

I love trees as well. When I was quite young, I planted a little forest on my father's hobby farm. The trees have thrived and they are now tall and beautiful. They are also threatened by development. Such is the sad way of this world. Trees are symbolic of life. Thank you for sharing this offering.

Love and peace to you,

Regis

A very sad tale, Marguerite; and it gets sadder all the time since global deforestation is now devastating many once glorious woodlands.

And I truly hope that desert you speak of never takes the place of the forests we now have left.

Sweet nature write that truly depicts the value of the tree. I was saying to my buddy just yesterday there was a certain type of tree that grew here in Nova Scotia quite abundantly and we only noticed it's absence from our lives when we saw it's bright splash of orange coloured berries when we were driving through the country side.

Without our trees, flowers and green grass, it would be the desert you see--so appreciate and enjoy
