which you avoid
to see in the eyes
when hurrying away with
armloads of presents
you had no the time
to drop for a cup
of warming coffee
a few dimes...
You know me,
I am the homeless one...
has been three days
since I had
a bite of food,
winter seems not only
to freeze the ground
but as well
the souls of them
that should do care...
You know me,
I am the homeless one...
my body tremble,
the cold is so hard
which I could setle
for the warm of one smile,
getting two kinds of winter
both with unmerciful ice,
one with the cruel wind
the other,the uncaring ones.
You know me,
I am the homeless one...
but I am blessed
this Christmas
as I am laying down
under a portal
so very tired...
because,
God's covering me
with a thick snowy blanket
so I can sleep well
this Xmas night
and tomorrow...
He can wake me up
in a better place.
Georg,
Wow! This packs a powerful punch, Georg. This poem is a MASTERPIECE! You are a brilliant, brilliant poet. I admire you work so much. Thank you for caring about the homeless of the world, the unfortunates. I also care. My heart feels deeply for these people who are hungry and cold and feel no one cares. By the grace of God go I. It could be me. This poem is a keeper, my dear friend. It will go into my library. Thank you for leading me here and I will be reading more of your poetry.
This composition leads one to think that this is time for the leaders of this planet to show not their allowance to charity, but their respect to Justice and the Human Rights.
A message duly delivered through the contents and poetic sublimity of "MERRY CHRISTMAS.......to me".
Excellent poem, Georg. Too often we overlook these people who just may be God's special angels ... well written poignant reminder not to look the other way.
Love,
CJ
