The treasure of the poor

After seeing the Superball, long after the Vince Lombardi trophy was awarded and the interviews started to be repetitive...my mind went back to one of "third world nations" and what they call football.
An expensive leather ball they don't have, just one made of entwined strips of ripped off fabrics, pressed tight into a reasonably round plaything.
If in the few first seconds of the Superball was a roaring exitement of that 92 yards run to Touch Down!!! it was matched by the roaring euphory of a kid kicking inside his first goal ever.
Their ball was made of rags, they clothes were going on rags, but their triumphal smiles were the same as the seventy thousands in Florida after a good game.

Poem Artwork

Grubby faces of cheerful,
barefoot hurchings playing soccer ball,
kids that weren't sold at all on shoes,
with running noses and a lot of freckles
in faces with many smiles on the loose.

Do you know what was the ball?
a tied bunch of long shredded rags,
kicked around in the summer heat
by players with well ventilated jeans
showing the skin color of their seats.

Comparison...you place a thought of how the separation of society is beyond the reach of povery and progress. One only needs to look past the enormity of a Graet Nation and find the simplicity with which many can but rarely grasp survival and see the difference.

You bring forth a view that is well written and expressed through your display of this through your work...

exceptional poetry.....Art Sun...
