The election are coming near, shouldn't be this te time to wake up and tell the politicians that the choices aren't good? that we want, demand! for other to come forward?
Can we find one that is not a cheater, adulterer, greedy, liar?
Are out there and honest man that will put back the honorable seal on the White House, the Congress and the House of Representants?
Are there a politician not in the pocket of big corporations?
Are there a politician that's not a lame duck, religious extremist, war hawk, red-carped-blinded?
Can I get back my America?

Poem Artwork

Mozart’s Lacrimosa from his Requiem, again,
because I am feeling now sadness in my heart
for many a brother that was lost too far away
in a time that only can be found but in the dark,
and all the tears will not wash clean the names
of all my brothers etched on that wall in black,
that are shameless forgotten and buried again
from yet of another painful war its bloody sands.

Put your uniform go and defend our democracy,
tell your mothers to be of you so very proud,
because you are going places your fathers didn’t
and to those darkness you will bring the light,
and for it, oil will come in dandy for a few souls
that sold theirs when the Devil’s bid was high,
they were calling wolf! wolf! and you believed it,
lying down your life for the snake-oil merchant.

Yes, I am sad, over four thousand of my brothers
will no return, and those that did, all broken up,
were forgotten before reaching America’s shores,
wheelchair soldiers, they that burden doesn’t want;
“mission accomplish” was said far too soon because
we didn’t, but our “enemies” of course had a plan,
or we had? from the very beginning, no democracy,
but that valuable black gold, a mountain of oil-fats.

Among the white crosses of Arlington the chorus
of mounting ghosts army are singing from Mozart
that painful and sad Lacrimosa from his Requiem
like an omen to their brothers future, from the past,
telling them that cannon-fodder became the truth
and not the lies wrapped with the Stars and Stripes
by a man out of George Orwell’s book “1984”,
the one in Washington, the snake-oil salesman.

We need to all walk past with our fingers in our ears...eyes fixed beyond the "snake-oil salesman" and buy HYBRID cars! Imagine 0-60 seconds with alittle Mozart for 250 miles before we have to re-charge! We can overcome this! We were made in His image and He parted seas! You have me sparked Georg!
Love your pen...

I've just downloaded all of Mozart's requiem, weird, but it lifts my spirits.
America has heaps of oil that is being held back for future generations...
I'm going to plug my ipod in and listen to Lacrimosa... A fav film of mine is Amadaus with Tom Hulce. The polotiking of America we fail to grasp... At least in parliament, there is always a good punch up, rather than just acceptance...

Georg my friend, we need the troops at home to fight for democracy there, but then we don't have much oil do we, but you're welcome to send a few up here, there is some oil, and we need our democracy back again, we are following your path much to closely. A timely and much needed poem very powerful, good for all times. Bless You! Jasmin Horst

Sad...and Truthful! All your words reveal the Sad Truths of this "regime" and its lies and its war! So much bile is embedded in our minds and hearts; can we ever go back to the patriotic innocence that we once had? Who, now, can we trust to lead our nation? Who now can we entrust the lives of our Armed Forces, young men and women?

Since we can't wipe the slate clean, we must be very careful with our next "Vote"...careful NOT to elect another Snake-Oil Salesman!

A most important poem you have written, Georg! Thank you...

Georg as always you speak from the heart with passion and eloquence on a subject you know all too well about. It is a shame when young men who only want to serve their country die because of their leaders greed. Your title is very appropritate

Thought provoking write... and sadly there is much truth in it... Sigh...
I have just about given up hope on things changing. But...in reality maybe that is the real problem...apathy and hopelessness. You've given me courage to dream another day...

I too feel the music... it is time for the troops to come home. Who are we fighting anyway? Iraq does not have an army and small groups of people that want to keep a distraction will always be there...no matter how many you kill or they kill. We have borders and terrorists right here that need attention. What will happen if the troops are spread too thin and we are attacked again? I don't know much about the military but I am ready for the war to be over.

A powerful offering indeed my friend! It seems as the days pass by do the beliefs, the ideas, the dreams, and the very foundation that our nation was founded on. A thought provoking write my friend!

G-man; GI Joe. the few, the proud, the expendable. Moral minds bleed immoral lessons. Emotional shrapnel embeded without an exit wound. We made a mistake; we trusted them, the pipe smoking men in the big hats, we signed their treaty. Now we are men without hope, a culture without future. But they are sorry, we go to their agency and they give us bread...

Georg, I KNEW this one was yours when I saw the title! It was the "snake oil" that gave it away.

"they were calling wolf! wolf! and you believed it,
lying down your life for the snake-oil merchant"

Perfectly stated, Brother. The whole poem is so well structured and perfectly stated that I hope you will consider submitting it out there to the print quarterly poetry magazines. It is timely and it would be quickly accepted for publication. I know several which would snap it up in a heartbeat. Please consider this.

Excellent, Georg!

Yes, I am sad

I think most of us are, these extremely sad days, brother. And I truly wish we could get our America back, but it seems like more and more of a pipe dream, each and every day now.

It's time we take back our America, make it the way it used to be. Prayer allowed in the homes, businesses, and schools. Discipline to be brought back into homes and schools. Teaching our kids about morals and compassion, enough of this "political correctness" bullcrap. Take care of the ones who TRULY need help and send those who refuse to obey our laws back to where they come from, refuse to give them amnesty (not those who are studying for their citizenship or come here the right way, but those who blatantly disregard our ways and expect US to learn THEIRS). Secure our borders tighter than a drum. Other things important to me and other Americans. You've ruffled a few feathers with this powerful piece; very well penned!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(
