Always I thought that something was missing in the Christmas pictures to make them more autentic.

Going back to his garrison a Roman soldier
happened of a humble house stable to go by,
low voice speaking few people was there,
curiosity grab the soldier, he had plenty time
for no getting in trouble and reach his post
which considering it was a very boring task.

Recognizing a few shepherds with their dogs
he thought maybe there was a game of dice,
a few pieces of silvers will never be to many
he “was” a Roman soldier and so he decided
to try, praying for luck to the Goddess Fortuna
in such a peaceful, for him, Bethlehem’s night.

There most be some rich Arabs there, three
camels where tied and waiting by the side,
the smell of incense and myrrh hit the nostrils
as the soldier was approaching the house and
being so tall he could see that there was no game
just a couple of Jews and a crib holding a child.

But that there were three rich Arabs, he could see
their clothes were for kings, he was certainly right,
“it’s the Messiah” whispered one of the shepherds
and something warmth hold the soldier’s heart,
he didn’t feel a treat but euphoric feeling of elation,
he was a Soldier of Rome, and yet, he felt the child.
