In 1942 Salvador de Madariaga published a book with the title El Corazon de Piedra Verde (The Heart of Jade) about the extraordinary pre-Columbian Aztec culture destroyed by the Spanish in search of gold.

Someone sowed long time ago a pebble so I could harvest my heart.

Poem Artwork

I have a secret
inside a heart made of stone,
which no tenderness
can ever soften…
nor prayers can ever open.
In my heart,
made of stone,
I have a secret.

If I had never read any of your works/masterpieces, this poem would still be a challenge to me, to peek just a little bit into your jade heart. But your poems and prose have revealed much of the treasure you keep inside. Can't help but love you anyway. So sue me. Hugs and more hugs Georg, J'nia

Better stand guard to your secret day and night, George. Many of us are just waiting for a chance to get through and find out what's inside that heart of stone... (-:
Beautifully written, as usual.

Love and hugs,
Sheri

Secrets can be suppressed but never ever can they be denied to come out but if they are buried in a stone heart it is very dangerous because it will come out in the form of a revenge. Great work

A man with a stone heart could not write this fantastic piece Georg. Now a man with a stoned heart...that's another thing. Some wounds never heal and I know you have some deep ones. And you know in your stoned heart that love is the only salve. Patrick

I hope you find someone to share that secret with old buddy for no matter how much we keep our secret...without another to share it with is it truly a secret or just an unheard tale.

Even jade is shattered,
Even gold is crushed,
Even quetzal plume are torn . . .
One does not live forever on this earth:
We endure only for an instant!

Such power in a short poem, Georg. We all have our own little secrets, otherwise we would not be human. If you tell then you will be set free. Perhaps the truth is what will mend your heart of stone.

I wish you all the love, peace and light!

secrets are a powerful thing on many levels
we all love them in different ways
for the value of their clout in a sense
from our own levels of personal curiosities
“You got a secret”...oh tell me…tell me…..tell me true!....
Whether it’s getting dirt on people or secrets to success
We all love to know secrets…
And since I am just as human as anyone &
my mind imaginative wheels turn as my cauliflower ear grows
Come see my closet of dancing skeletons Georg!
Love Vickie
