Walking on Hangman’s Tightrope

I have read quite a few poems, blogs and articles here in AD about innermost hidden pains that suddenly couldn't be contained and leaked on their papers.
To let know them that they were understood, I dedicated this humble one to them.

Poem Artwork

Catharsis of the soul shedding emotional toxics
after and overdose of treason provoking wrath,
when naïveté assured us that it was most safe
to, without any reservations, open wide our hearts.

But, what comes after the all burning passions,
can we believed every word that was said now?
Lies are the currency of what we want to hear
as truth is not expected, in love to become a vow.

Fingertips carrying the softest velvet caresses
following every line of a face like a blind man
would try to read in the humidity of her tears
the depth of the sadness, the depth of the love.

Then, realizing that the soul is thoroughly empty,
one ask himself whatever happened to the man
that naïveté had assured that it was most safe
to walk on love’s tightrope hold by the Hangman.

Those "emotional toxics" are effectively described. I like the content and construction of this piece. Well done.

I understand where you are coming from here Georg. Trust and honesty and difficult to gauge but betrayal, well it is a gigantic slap in the face isn't it? Love and hugs, J'nia

Trust and honesty... two basic principles that in this day and age are two highly underrated traits.

wow Georg this give me goose bumps...
deception is always everywhere unfortunately
some so frightened of the truth for their own lust
no value is placed on the other person...ever
but moreso is the cultivator of deception I feel
for their life is by far worse than those being decieved
it would seem so anyway...it is a no-win

Opening our hearts and wanting to believe sometimes leaves us blind the the realities of truth, yet we continue to try don't we. Beautiful heart tugging piece...

Be always safe,
Karen

Maybe it is because it is well past midnight. But this seems a melancholy write. Hang the hangman by that rope and go live a life of hope.

A POET WALKS THE HANGMAN'S TIGHTROPE BECAUSE THEY MUST...THERE INSPIRER WANTS THEM TO. AND THEY ARE UNCONCERNED ABOUT WHAT COULD HAPPEN...ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING...THUS, THE 'FREEDOM' BEING MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE POSSIBILITY OR PROBABILITY OF THE 'SNARE'. AND DO KNOW WHY THIS IS?...'CAUSE 'HE' HOLDS THE 'SAFETY NET' THAT CANNOT BE SEEN. A MARVELOUS WORK GEORG AND THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING, LOVE AND BLESSINGS,

Even if for a moment you believe the lies are truth, romance is still good for the soul. If parted, both parties will have the wonderful memories for life. You do not want to remember the bad part, only the good part of the romance. It will make you a happier being.

Life is just too short to have to remember the bad stuff as well. The good stuff is what we learn to keep in our memories.

Georg, I am a romantic fool, I know, in love with an impossibility, but I cannot help myself. One's heart has a mind of it's own..
You my friend, are an amazing poet and you do open our eyes to all things...
Have a beautiful day,
Much peace, love, and light,

Well Georg, you amaze me again with your grasp of romance reality and how we open our hearts and often our minds to become possible victims or casualties of love. We cannot in all honesty shut off love or turn it on like a light switch, no, it creeps up on us and moves in without invitation but once there...we become so used to it's company when it departs we shed tears of loss. Some are more susceptible than others in their very naivetness and some are cruel enough to take advantage of tender hearts using lies and deceit...I guess that is the way of humanity. Great write my friend and definately one to make the mind think...
