A museum has been defaced.
One cool, autumn evening a thief crept in & trampled
upon the beautiful & priceless treasure housed within.
Did he realize the consequence of his actions?
Did he not foresee the pain & anguish?
Was he blinded by his selfless desires?
Or did his defenses protect him against such thoughts?
The pilferer visited this museum quite often
in the proceeding months. He would marvel
upon the exquisite treasure & whisper words
of enchantment, wonderment & yearning.
Anyone that would have been allowed to gaze
upon him as he admired HIS treasure would
have thought that he was in love.
Hah!
Pure love is something that this beguiling man
could never understand.
His sole intent was never to obtain, but to destroy. He couldn’t possibly house something so beauteous with him.
He didn’t have the capacity for unbridled love.
He ran from or demoralized anything that might break through his fortress of shields.
So he destroyed….
