Today, questions go unanswered

responded to by way of an accusation.

A preposterous claim of a prejudice

I do not have nor have ever held.

A distraction, a pointing finger,

to an honest and partially innocent inquiry.

It was a deflection meant to detour

what became evident in the discussion.

I meant no harm.  I simply needed resolution.

For my mind can wander to many dark imaginings.

Therefore, to try to understand and know the truth,

I understand it is always better to just ask.

In lieu of an answer, I received a rebuttal.

In defense of what, I still don’t know.

A masterful maneuver, I must concede.

It was clever and appears to be quite effective.

For having dodged the original conversation,

we have wandered into an entirely different one.

And yet, I cannot help but wonder now,

if this was the original question, or answer, after all?

Hoy en día, ir sin contestar preguntas
