What if our lives were Like green billowing green-sheet And we, In the cool desert sunset Could turn aside And walk out of Like a tangling tent How amazing and how pretty Our lives would seem Out there In the cool evening air Thoughts without claim And a foolish heart Always mysterious to hear attractive Always wave at me through A small glorified stream of morning light I always waited

"Where the dreams crawl without claim" seems to capture the secret of this poem. I like the way you tie it up at the end.
