Hey Everybody: Yesterday my wife and I went to a birthday party. It was one of my grandchildren’s first birthday. It goes without saying that the adults were more excited about his birthday than he was but he did enjoy all the attention. He is one beautiful baby. OK, so I may be just a little prejudiced but doesn’t a grandpa have that right?
So I want to with Samuel H. Dearing a Happy Birthday with all my heart. The following is for him:
I can’t believe a full year has passed.
I would have rather it lingered so my time you could last.
I know the next will pass by quickly, too.
I treasure each second, minute, hour or day spent with you.
I cannot find the words to say how much love I feel.
I can only say my love for you is real.
I pray that God will hold you forever in his arms.
It is he who created you and all your charms.
So I wish you a Happy Birthday with all my heart.
And all the love my soul can impart.
Beautiful baby and wonderful moment I hope you printed up on the wall so he can read it as he grows up and the poem is a very precious prayer on his behalf. May God bless him with courage, strength, creativity, a maybe even a little of grandpa's good looks! Ha!
