As a man grows older his pace becomes slower.

His joints grow stiff and his energy lower.

But even in a man’s’ old age he finds he enjoys

The blessings of grandchildren, be they girls or boys.

They’re a great source for laughter and loaded with things to love.

I find that each one of them is a special gift from above.

It is a joy to comfort them when they become sad

And Grandpa would never admit that they could be bad.

Grandma and I spoil them and let them have their way,

Because we can send them home with Mom and Dad at the end of the day.

My advice to you is to be patient as you raise your offspring

Because they will one day bless you with grandchildren

And thereby with songs to sing.
