They just finished a tunnel here(near sacramento) of highway 80 where I lie it relieves the congestion of a very bad intersection, but it's an old fashioned dark tumel unlike what you describe;-) We don't mind since it does help the traffic flow, which had almost came to a standstill there.WTG Houston!

If they are going to build a tunnel, this is certainly the way to do it...no dark and eerie feeling to this one, the sun shines in and you can still view the day...it doesn't get much better than this. What an amazing feat of engineering. Thank you for sharing this. Your poem is excellent too, Ron, sorry, I got caught up in the beauty of the tunnel.
