Not to worry. I'm not going anywhere
anytime soon. This is just a poem
that I thought might make an
interesting country or blues song.

Goin’ to Hell

I'm goin' to hell and I,
ain't comin' back.

On the road to redemption,
I took the wrong track.

Not because of what I have,
or because of what I lack.

But because it's where I'm goin'
and I ain't comin' back.

No, I ain't comin' back.

I'm going to where,
the sun always shines.
Where skies are blue,
no howl in the pines.

Where it never snows,
and the breeze is so light,
caressing the days,
and cooling the nights.

I ain't comin' back,
no, never again,
so you might as well,
get used to it,
my dear friend.

'Cuz where I'm goin',
there's no comin' back,
and, I like it like that.
Yes, I like it like that.

There is a place called Hell
on Grand Cayman Island.

I love this poem and think it would be one hell of a song. It oozes the blues.

Song writing came to mind a short while back for me and I hope to be inspired in some fashion. Writing seems to move along on different levels. Your words of verse could come to something. Good luck.

I've heard there's a town called hell in the west also. Great play on words Ron. There are lots of strangely named towns in this country. I was in Possum Trot the other day. Bob

What fun! I have always thought our ideas of heaven and hell would be what we make of it. If we are lost or found, cast into darkness or walk to a brilliant light, etc. When you get to hell it may well be someone else's heaven. M.True

Ron,
My vote is a country song...I live in Texas and when summer comes it will be hot as hell! I would welcome the change in the Grand Cayman Islands. Beautiful poem and a tad bit funny, I really enjoyed this pen, my friend.

Karen

Gunny how a word like Hell puts a picture in one's mind that makes one think just the opposite of what you portray in your poem. My pre=conceived picture made your poem a surprise

Wow - I've been to Hell, Michigan and to Hell Creek in Montana, but I didn't know that Hell could even exist in the Grand Caymans.

PS: Hope you have fun in Hell!

The road to hell froze over this year
as those in Atlanta love to mention
they couldn't get rid of the ice that was there
so they repaved it with good intentions.
