Ron,

Your rhythm and rhyme are perfect in this piece, and I absolutely love the following:

Yesterday is gone,
With all its pain.
Like dirty water,
Down the drain.

For the most part we cannot undo our yesterdays. On the other hand, with the dawning of a new day, we are given the opportunity to start afresh. But I seem to have a problem with my new days, that is, the older I get, the more I tend to procrastinate. At the age of 69, my parents would never have sat around and wasted their days the way I seem to do anymore. They followed Ben's "Early to bed, early to rise..." motto to the letter. They were happy and life was good. Perhaps one day I will make a change for the better. I certainly hope so, and I hope it's soon. Time's a-wastin' for me, Ron, but your thoughts set forth in this poem are food for my soul. Again, you've managed to get me to thinking. And like I said one other time, that's a good thing. Wonderful write, Ron.

Sometimes I love to just waste a day doing nothing.On second thought, perhaps no day is ever wasted if we just enjoy how we spend it.
