a poem for my youngest colt-a playful 4 year old colt

`Wings


 


Squeals of delight


Proclaim your joy of life


You run and kick up your heels


Drop to the mud and roll


Or bury your face in a snowdrift-just for fun


A soft intelligent eye


You think yourself a social butterfly


Inquisitively you grab the feed tubs,


 and the coat sleeves of unsuspecting passers by


My little buddy, Wings


You cheer me on even my gloomiest days
