I am so, so sorry for this earth-shattering news, Karen. You have expressed that numbing shock and yet immovable rock suddenly landed into the middle of our already complex lives oh so well. This is a gripping and compelling write, as well as nerve-jangling. I do pray that she progresses well through the treatment but I have to agree, it is the mere mention of the words that spell malignancy that strike to the very marrow. That aside, those in the situation realise that this is another area of life and living to participate in and new awarenesses creep in and survival tactics take over. I have to say it was a most humbling experience to have had my own episode of breast cancer last year - potentially a very severe form, had it been left unchecked - and to be a part of a new strata of society whose bravery and fortitude - and NORMALITY - rocked me in my socks. May strength, grace and healing go with you and before you. The power in the repetition of "Baby Sister" really makes an impact. Bless you both. Kate xx

This is a sad write. Your baby sister did nothing wrong to get leukemia, neither did you do any thing to undergo through this pain. I am sory for your sister. God can make her healthy again. I hope a miracle for her. Please stay strong.

Karen, my heart goes out to your sister--and to you for the pain in your heart. It's so hard to keep going sometimes, and it seems everybody depends upon you when all you want to do is turn your life over into another's strong arms. Yet, the needs of others on your time and for your attention keep you going, even if it only feels like you're merely putting one foot ahead of the other in a continual struggle to keep up the pace.

Do all you can, my friend, and put the rest in God's hands. May God keep you strong for those you love and who love you in turn.

Karen, I am sorry to learn that your sister is so very sick. I hope you are a match for her and I will pray for her to quickly go into remission. Life does force us to go on, even when our heart says that we need time to address the most grave of issues. We never believe that we will receive such news as you have and when we do, a part of us lives in disbelief and grief rocks every molecule of our being.

Thankfully leukemia, although it still has the fear tag, 20 years back 14% survived, now well over 50% are cured.. I pray for you all to have inner peace and strength until you here the words. I'M CURED!!

I bet God's saying, "Nope I DON'T WANT HER UP HERE FOR MANY YEARS YET"

I am so sorry for your trouble and the worry that you are facing with your sister. I know when my younger brother took sick suddenly and was medivaced in a comma half way cross the country my world went on pause as I flew to be by his side hoping I could find a miracle. He never came out of his coma but I like to think that after a week of sittin by his bed and quietly talking to him he knew and was comforted because i was there. My thoughts and wishes are with you and your sister Karen for a full recovery. My heart goes out to you. Big cyber hug across the miles.
