You are so right Karen, all our yesterdays are what make us who we are today. I don't look at my yesterdays as mistakes but as lessons. I wouldn't change them because I'd have to change everything in my life and I love my life today so we don't forget, we just move on with grace. Thank you for sharing.

This is so true, what you say and is so beautifully written. I'd like to add that there is hope though, in Jesus Christ the Lord, whose first coming we celebrate this day, for a brighter tomorrow, a new life and a new heart. We are promissed forgiveness and cleansing from all our sin if we but ask and receave it. This is the most wonderful gift of all. But we do need to take heed for not only do the deeds of all our past days make impressions in our own lives and the lives of others, but those deeds leave consequences too, sometimes good, sometimes bad and quite often these are the things that we, in and of ourselves can not change. So we must indeed take cae of each step we take.
My you be blessed this day with that peace which passes all understanding. It is indeed the most wonderful gift that God offers to each and every one of us.

Such wise words, Karen. I am certain that we all have things in our past that we wish we could erase, but of course that is not something that we have the power to do. We can learn the lesson from the wrongs that we have done and live each day forward in a wiser and more gentle manner. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you and your loved ones.

Karen, a very insightful write and the picture is so apt. I think that it's really true that when you take a train ride it's not the destination that makes it a success, it has to be the journey. All of the 'yesterdays' that you write about are wrapped in the journey.

Quite right about the past never going away . . . The biggest problem a lot of us have is just dealing with it . . . I have finally gotten to the stage that I do not allow the past to control a lot of my thinking -- I hope -- But it is, as you say, still there . . . Interesting Christmas Eve poetry, Karen, one that I wholeheartedly approve of . . . We all have a lot of Christmas's past, some more than others, but still . . .
