In The End

In the end, when we pass,

From the life we have know on this sweet earth,

When all we toiled to own lies dormant,

In the front yard of our homes,

Advertised in bold red letters “Yard Sale”,

Or on an E-bay auction page,

In the end all we really had was our stories,

Of lives we lived and folks we touched with that life.

How very true this write is, for in the end all we have to give are memories to the ones we loved and who loved us back. Beautifully put.

A fact, that eventually every thing we worked so hard to accumulate will one day end up in land fill. But the people we have encouraged, loved and cared for will in turn carry that flame on to others. Blessings, J'nia

You are so right, when my Mom died I consoled my young brother with the fact that when he looked into his infant son in his arms he was also looking at the past and the ones that came before us.

In the end, the light we kindled, will travel forever, long after this sweet earth was consumed by our expanding sun.

So very true. Most want to leave a part of them selves behind in one way or another. Some material things are kept and handed down, others go by the way side...Great poem...Keep writing ........M
