“Daddy”
“Daddy, I need a Band-aid,
For I have skinned my knee.”
“Daddy, will it hurt real bad?”
“If it will you can just kiss it better.”
“Daddy, here’s the book I want,
For my bedtime story tonight.”
“And here’s a hug, and a butterfly kiss,
Daddy I love you.”
“Daddy, growing up is so hard,
My girl friends are mean to me.
“And daddy that boy I think is so cute,
Won’t even look at me.”
“Daddy please fasten my necklace”, she says,
She is all grown up, a woman not a girl,
But all those standing nearby,
Turn at her simple request,
Because “Daddy” holds such little girl essence,
On this her wedding day.
Reminds me of that song, "Butterfly Kisses"

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :( >tears! <
the love of fathers for daughters (and sons). It made me miss my
Dad, and you wrote this so tenderly from the heart, it touched every
memory I had of him.
Thanks Karen,
