To stand before a wonder, reigns with us, in all senses of, "Who are we?"
Open big, to the canyon of thought Embrace the skies surrounding, in ought Then feel, in the expanse of just being, and breathe . . . Inhale the moment of life in all, even in strife Yes, it’s an infinite wisdom knowing you . . .
You, Who stands for whom? Is, and has stood, even before a wonder’s beginning Unfolding, before the earth even shattered You mattered!
You, between the grooves and crevices, who in your own right belong, But not only in just being. Then guesses . . . as when asking, "Can you feel me?" "Can I be felt?", In wondering, always thinking, asking again . . .
"Will I be stood over, as if being looked at, in awe, or in pity?" Then you . . . you seem alone, when compared to the vast . . . You, you are small and then you ask, yourself, to yourself,
" Do I just muse against this huge occurrence called existence . . . ?" Well, I say now, I am you, I feel you! Your nature is in man, and is into . . . And then a reign fell down on me, with you . . .
Look at you, also enjoying your new twist of writing Kimmy
It is great to explore many avenues in writing, and so many different prospection. This brings to mind several of my poems but one in particular "Who Is This Person" along with the graphics reminicent of my many landscapes I painted retreating in the mountains~such beauty indeed.

This is glorious--one feels the poem expand in their mind until the reader sees the grand visions you've penned in beautiful, compelling lines (that rhyme, yet). Good on you--excellent!
Your poem evokes the awe captured in the image above it. Excellent work. I used another incredible picture of the Grand Canyon as the cover of my poetry collection I called Satin Verses. The sun turned the cliffs to black and gold in that one.
Best regards,
Leland

"...inhale the moment of life." I luv this line. Your words take flight in a wondering awe, ah! you dO belong. I remember feeling insignificant, standing over the GrAnd CAnyon...but oddly empowered at the same time. Rock On, Mom!!

I was watching National Geographic yesterday about Grand Canon. Wouldn't you know it - they have found a lot of fossils on the rocks. It is said that about 500 millions years ago Grand Canon used to be under the sea, but the landscape of the world changed and pushed the Grand Canon up to above the sea level, forcing the living creatures to become fossils.
It's just so breathtaking. The picture gives one the sense of feeling so insignificant in comparrison to it's expanse and beauty. I wrote a poem about the canyon after I visited there the first time. I don't recall if I posted a picture but the poem is called enraptured and is posted in my den and if there's no picture I'll upload one tonight. Thanks for this beautiful poem and the outstanding reminder of how much beauty there is in this world.
The self worth of any person is all to often measured in material possessions and accomplishments instead of what is in a persons heart and what is in his soul. The immensity of mother nature's wonders are reminders that we are mere flecks of dust on the pages of time but we can make our marks on the ones that surround us if we try to be the best that we can be. There is acountry song out now that sings about if he dies he wants to know people will say "He was a good man..." can we ask for more.
Kimmy, do volcanos belch? do the Grand Canyon get a itch? the wonders of Mother Nature are all around us in such a scale as to make us wonder why we take us so awful serious thinking we are so great.
Then...mother earth give us a clap in the behind with an earthquake.
Your poem gives food for thoughs.
Thanks.

But God's wonders were created for us. Is it any wonder we're in awe? It is as He intended.
Beautiful and thoughtful!

I seem to ask myself that quite often these days, but the answer is quite illusive, but you've opened a huge canyon of thought here, Kimmy.
