My husband, Paul and I met seven years ago, today. He was visiting his parents from New York and they all came to the nightclub where I was playing my congas. I was out on stage with the house band, "Matanzas", at the Tradewinds Tropical Lounge in St. Augustine, Florida. His father snapped this picture the moment Paul approached me.
He came up offering a quick lesson on how to slap the skins, Pauly style!
Needless to say, we will be celebrating tonight, but instead of me performing for him...he'll be performing for me, with his guitar and his beautiful voice :)

Kimmy, We both have 7 year anniversaries today, though mine is different. It was 7 years ago today, this Sept. 20th, when I wrote my first memorial tribute poem. "Weeping Willow's Tale" was the first poem, in all my years of having a love-hate relationship with poetry, that I called "a good effort." I have not turned back since!
Have fun celebrating and a Happy Anniversary! I often wonder how many special relationships began, thanks to the simplest, yet most meaningful gift --- a smile?! I'm sure a lot of them have.
