I read it and within twenty minutes I had my write written...I love when that happens! Oh!...and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon...God-Willing! :)

Now that you’ve opened my letter I can see you, there, reading it loud I guess your all hoping to finally "get" what it was about me that was sound
You will find all your pictures in boxes separated and sealed with your names Your school papers and report cards, were my stuff to gloat, so keep them, feeling the same
Don’t bury me with gold or diamonds The lace can be itchy too Rather, a worn pair of jeans and a light cotton blouse White, if you want, will do. . .
Simple is me, but don’t get me construe d Had I monetarily done better, I’m sure I’d be singing some other tune! But, since I didn’t, and I’m now gone Be proud of me, my sweet babies, Love and Peace were my only song!
Don’t bury me in satin, O'flannel is best! A pair of warm fuzzy socks, will keep me at rest ...and I wrote a poem specifically for you! It’s all I have, it’s all I could do . . .
You can find all my junk that I carried house to house, to store somewhere else More than likely it’s labeled, nostalgia because I doubt if it’s really worth much . . .
Now that you’ve read my last letter Now, that you’ve read what you'll get A women, a mother, a grandmother too I was just me, there, always just living for, and for forever here, still loving you!
Impressive piece of writing. I like how you put so much energy from the heart and the soul in the description of simple actions (opening a letter, choosing the clothes, looking at the things you leave behind) that tell so much about the person you are and the way you want to be remembered.
I love the heart, soul and much thought you have poured into this write, Kimmy. But, as others have said, you will be always embellished in the minds of those who know and admire you with your invisible and visible giftings adorning you, such that you will need your very own "Kim-muse-um" to accompany you on your onward journey! As for me, I'd like me and my writing to sail together as flecks on the breeze on the winds off the Dorset coastline, come the time of our immortality. Makes me think indeed! xx
Ah, but there was more that you didn't mention. Not only were you a loving mother, and so on, but a poet and artist. Two or three centuries from now, your artwork may fetch a pretty penny for its uniqueness and heart. As for your poetry -- several books will be available in some of them will be discussed in forums for their eternal value.
For we are human and we create. Otherwise, we are just part of the nameless human race. By writing this poem you've gone beyond that, to immortality.
This poem sounds like words engraved on an old tree trunk, remembering the author of it long after he or she was gone.

Love this one and so captured how I also feel about living and dying...my memory lives on in my children and grandchildren and the love I always had for them is their only legacy.
Kimmy, I loved this poem it is well written, inspiring, thought provoking, has a beautiful sentiment, wise and yet sad. You've given the reader a small glimpse of yourself through your powerful imagery, as well as much to think about. Awesome write, Mom! Who needs all that frill when you have your sweet babes? Besides, I love you best in your flannel nighties and fuzzy, warm socks. ;) Thank you for your many sacrifices. They have ne'er gone unnoticed!
