I grew up going to church
Sundays were for smelling incense
I heard these stories of Jesus
And sometimes they
Didn’t make sense
I wanted to ask the question
Is Jesus real or fake
I never had the nerve
Didn’t want to make
The earth quake
I kept it to myself
And had some serious concerns
But religiously I lived the faith
And without seeing
I left leaves unturned
Then grace it was that
Opened my eyes
And the answers were revealed
You see it isn’t the wondering
It’s allowing the wisdom
To come unpeeled
I also grew up going to church. I don't go anymore. To each their own.
