I know with first light, love takes flight

We must heed days demands that beckon

So, I try to hold back the dawn

I want to continue to taste your poetry

To feel the prose from your pen again and again

To luxuriate in lyrical libidinous liberation

Your hands caress a  favored quill

Dripping my desires across your page

They are sampled like the finest wine

Our rhythmic sighs end in blush of morn

As smoke spirals up to kiss the ceiling

We bid farewell to loves sweet night

Ah, a night of poetry to be imbibed slowly, like wine. Hard to bid farewell to that ... perhaps just "see ya later" will do.

Love & Light,
Joseph

Sweet and gentle write, Eileen. Romance should always be so warm and fuzzy and the feeling should carry on long after the day begins. Absolutely beautiful, made me catch my breath.
Take care,
Sherry

you make these kind of poems look completely effortless, Eileen. I couldn't write one like this to save my life. love the combo here of the written word and sighs and "blush of morn." Dawn

Uh, this is one of the most image-driven poems I have read in quite some time. Man, oh man, almost every line give the reader (me) something to "see." Good. Very good.

Ohhhh, I really like this one. It has a peaceful feel, like being bathed in words that take you to another realm. I'm not sure if you are talking about your own desire to write, or reading someone else's poetry. My admiration goes out to you for both of these pursuits.
