In dark pursuit man will choose to walk
Does not seek the better way
Of higher morals people tend to balk
Seek the night instead of day
Until time comes when tongues run out of talk
Nothing of worth left to say

One uses the time twixt twilight and  dawn
To gather data for new goals
Hoping to escape what evil has  spawned
Subtly trying out new roles
Like the groundkeeper cares for a new lawn
The dreamer tends to his soul

There dwelt within the mans compelling eyes
Mystery of dreams  filled with  pain
The pigment seemed to deepen them with lies
Made  life's illusions  nothing  gained
When daylight hours lit them with surprise
Prayers for rain to wash away stain

The road ahead though littered with regret
Shows hope not temerity
Relieved with no need to worry or  fret
Dreams find new vitality
The time has come for the light to be met
Looking foward to eternity

Our light is internal and it recognizes the light from others. It is a bond that comes without negatives and it's richness knows only the word priceless.

A sublime voice singing ontological and spiritual axioms through the magnificent poetic lines of "Man Reaching His Years". An aliment for the soul, and a full meal for the mnd.

I salute You, Poet.

Looking forward to Eternity, those are very powerful words ET,
In dreams eternity lives, in reality eternity seems unreachable.

The hope expressed in this poem fills my heart. Each day that I live, I find that there are times that I find myself looking forward to the day that I get to see Him face-to-face, and thank Him for all His goodness and love.

God bless you. Kathy

Yes, but all men have some good in them, if you can reach them with love, like Jesus did, and some you can't, as you can see in what they did to an innocent grown child! Very thoughtful poem Eileen! Bless you! Jasmin Horst

Waxing philosophizing on the countdown to the birth of Christ are we, Eileen? Deep thought process within the lines of this very simple poem, although written in the complex. To see that eternal light is the way of the ones bold enough to walk tall among lepers . . . There are too few to count . . . Look around . . .

It seems like we're sleep-walking our way in a dense fog as a result of too much information and "enlightenment" that dazzles and blinds, sometimes. Coupled with being overloaded with the demands of materialism by which we are bombarded and all too often succumb, we can end up losing our ability to think at all. I wish I could think as straight on a London High Street at rush hour as your chappie on his mountain top, Eileen. Much truth in your words thoughtfully expressed here. Love, Kate xx

Yes ... I am convinced that the fullness of time is approaching. I, too, believe that the days are short and the trumpet is being polished and readied for those written in the Book Of Life.
