I see a cascade of moments
tumbling over one another
in a hurry to join the stream
that will merge with the river
that flows out to the sea, the
moments are in a race to become
minutes,and by the time they get
to the sea they'll become hours,
days,months, years, in what we
call time which has no beginning
or end

Yet one sees the dichotomy,
a moment has to die to become
a minute, doesn't it? Or does it?
If I snap my finger, which takes
only a moment, the action is
over, gone in the moment, but
does the moment that becomes
the minute, etc live on?

If so, does the snap of my finger
live on in some unseen moment
of time, does then all that we are,
or all we have ever done, live on
forever in the continuum of time,
which makes one wonder, should
we pay more attention to the
moments we have in life, for we
may one day, meet up with them,
and will we greet them with regret
or with fond remembrance~
