You take a pen in hand and how quickly it comes to you to jot down things even if it wasn’t your intention. In our house we are on our 14th book of memories which we encourage others to share in as they visit, both family and friends. There are times when I start to reread and it brings tears to my eyes as I recall and for a moment go back in time.
I’ll Jot Down My Thoughts and Memories
I jot down all my thoughts and memories, To share with all the world to see, And then I feel a smile upon my cheek.
I think of all the chats and what we had to say, Before I had to leave and go away, Of all the walks and the things that I had seen.
But all things aren’t just meant to be, I have the photos and my memories. I know that all things aren’t meant to last.
My life has really changed for good, Maybe that won’t be fully understood, But my pen won’t fade away my happiness.
I was cheated of so much in my life; They returned to me after so many years For far too long, I have shed too many tears.
But I’ll return to your hearts once more, Where you’ll great me with an open door, And I’ll jot down more thoughts and memories.

Wonderful write sis, and yes I have written in your journal several times...not sure which one though lol. Memories are very precious and always a pleasure to look back at.
There is so much expressed here both in the lines and between them and I feel the thoughts that echo in your journal entries. I too keep a journal of sorts but mine is kept in a private place that I share with few but often it opens in the form of my poetry...great write dear cuz...

Rose,
We one time stayed in a little B&B right behind and next to Hemmingway's house in Key West. It to had a journal of sorts. Reading through what the previous guests had to say was a joy, I must say.
But the one of the entrys that stood out besides the six-toed kitties...were the damned roosters that ALWAYS crowed just before dawn.
In the meantime I had told my sis she had to stay there for her's and hubby's vacation. When she got back she said she loved the place...except for the roosters....LOL...that's Key West for ya...
Memories are indeed powerful motivators for emotions and feelings; if one can derive meaning from the experience, then it is certainly worth the effort. Your "memories" books are a great idea, Rose. Thank you for sharing. Love and peace to you,
