Flowers remind me of life, they are started from a tiny seed and grows into this beautiful stunning life of which we admire for so long and we slowly watch it as it ages with time and bend over, lifeless until on day it no longer exist.
Beauty as it Fades
How wonderful to watch them grow, Bright and beautiful for today, yet soon the time will arrive, When they too must wither away.
Just like age as too grow old, With age there comes some stress, Standing tall and firm for now, They'll falter as we do I guess.
They too will be fed the necessities, Nourishment and tender care, It just won't seem to be enough, We'll soon learn this I fear.
Just like life, in full bloom, The colours as they change with time, Knowing the end is drawing near, A chance to accept it in your mind.
What once was, will be no more, Beauty as it fades away, To be replaced with new birth, On another perfect day.
Flowers, as beautiful as they are, eventually wilt and die serving their short purpose in the chain of life...propagating color everywhere in new growth. We get more beautiful with time deep inside our hearts and souls. You have expressed this so well, Rose. Beautifully penned.

Smiles are like the seeds of life around me. The more I smile the more smiles I plant on others. Liked the write and it's meaning. Lady J
Yes sis beauty of the body, like the flower does eventually whither and die, but then we go to our HOME up in the great Heavens to once again become even better then what we were here on earth, healthy and beautiful in both body and soul. Another beautiful write sis.
Life is full of trickery...one day we are strong and brave and we feel nothing can come against us...time flies by without us realizing it and we find a new person staring at us in the mirror...one who suffers pain and anguish as we ask this person...who are you? This is a great write!
"Another perfect day," is a splendid way to end a poem that reeks of loveliness and the test of time. I absolutely agree with you and enjoyed this read!
Still Living on my Feet is the follow up to Tichaona Chinyelu’s first book, In the Whirlwind, which was rooted in a sense of hard-hitting revolutionary black love. However, in this sophomore effort, Tichaona brings the revolutionary essence from deep
