Strange how a second relationship makes you think of how lucky you were that the first one never worked out. I have often said we rush to quickly to find love instead of waiting for the true one to come our way. This was too long so I thought I would post in as part1 and tomorrow part 2. Hope you enjoy it.

A Stroll Through my soul
Part 1

I walked along the beach,
Feeling the warm sand at my feet.
It seemed I strolled for hours,
By evening I was so beat.
I stopped and sat awhile,
So I could collect my thoughts,
For the hurt I’d hidden deep inside,
Could be washed out with the rocks.

The marks the anger left inside,
Will forever be written on my soul,
The hurtful words spoken in anguish,
Are things that would forever go untold.
The Lost love I held so long,
With one I’d always hold so dear,
The one I shared by whole life with,
Admitted, no longer did he care.

As I sat there all alone and blue,
Trying to think of what is it I should  do,
I heard a voice speak, as he asked me why,
Why do I sit on the beach, just to cry.
A gentle voice and a kind and caring smile,
How I needed someone to listen to my words,
To comfort me, if just for a while.

He sat and listened to me attentively,
To every word I sigh,
And comforted me with open arms,
When I began to cry.
He gave that tender smile my way,
That made me feel quiet at ease,
And said if it’s an ear you need right now,
Trust in me if you please.

I can really relate to this! I wrote a poem called ,," A Second Chance" and "Loves Enchanted Time". They tell about finding my true love. They are posted on AD. Sometimes we rush into marriage when we're young or vulnerable and it doesn't always work out.......M

For the hurt I’d hidden deep inside,
Could be washed out with the rocks.

could or couldnt be...?
perhaps you were waiting for them TO be washed...?
im not sure... something in this line doesnt quite work...?

He sat and listened to me attentively,
To every word I sigh,

you should prolly think about changing 'i sigh' to 'i'd sigh' or 'i sighed' to keep the tense all the same throughout the piece

i think 'stroll' is a most delightful word.
it gives one the illusion of unhurried moving through life...
in this case the idea of strolling through ones soul sounds very... cathartic.
i think if you dont take the occaisional stroll through your soul/emotions/etc then you become very out of touch with your feelings and your ability to move on from hurts and pain is impaired.

i also think beaches are the most magical things.
the way the waves pound against the shore when youre angry and the way they sand with the sand when your dancing and singing for joy...

i shall have to try and catch the second party of your story because i feel you left this at the crucial moment haha!

Yes it is always a pity when one marries quickly and so many do so for the wrong reason. I heard this on Italian TV. They married after three nights they met because their lovemaking was wonderful. Separated after three days of real life. Makes one wonder. Victor

Rose, releasing and cleansing the soul is the only way to a cure. You never really know a person until you've been with them for a while. You've expressed the hurt and pain clearly and in this writing & I can't wait to read Part 2. God Bless.

Baring your soul with such heartfelt warmth and ease is truly poetic, Rose and many people can identify with your very personal account.

Very nicely done, Rose. The ocean, or even a lake, in solitude is such a fitting place to look back and look within. I like your picture of your hurt being washed out to sea.
God is the maker of the sea and the refuge from the storms of life.
May He bless and renew your spirit.

Love,
Connie
