All For A One Night Stand

I opened a book and I read the inside,
The words that would make one think again,
As I read and thought of the words,
My tears fell down just like rain.

They spoke of love so open and true ,
A love that had somehow gone astray,
A young love meant to last forever,
Gone , all for one night's play.

How much hurt and pain it had caused,
To hide this sorrow done in vain,
And so I cried many more tears,
That continued to fall like rain.

He said one night out with his friend,
Just one night out on the town,
He neglected to say who that friend was,
As he spent his night out running round.

A young couple, so much in love,
And yet touched another's heart,
She prayed her love would be strong enough,
That they would never have to part.

It wasn't love but merely lust,
She offered freely to this man,
And caused his wife to shed those tears,
All for a one night stand.

Before you give away your heart,
To one who doesn't care,
Think of the love you've left at home,
And think about her tears.
