I have the pleasure of caring for two of our grandchildren five days a week and they are so cute at the age of two and four. They got things down pat as to how rules work for just about everything they do, but I just look into their faces and pretty well melt.

I Looked Into Their Faces

I looked into their faces ,
They said Nanny play with us,
So I dropped what I was doing,
I began to make a fuss.

Roll the dice he said out loud
I tossed them to the floor,
He said you got fifteen Nanny,
Toss again, now try for more.

But everytime I threw the dice,
The number remained the same,
I asked now who was winning,
As he said, he won again.

It's time for us to colour,
A contest we will see,
Who can do the perfect picrure,
Shelby said too bad again it's me.

Something don't seem right here,
For you win everytime we play,
Thats because you don't understand Nan,
You have to play the games our way.

I guess times have changed,
For when I was a child long ago,
Before we began to play a game,
The rules we had to know.

Come play cars and race with me,
I'll drive the winning one,
Too late for you Nanny,
It's over and again I've just won.

Today they set their own rules,
But Nanny plays with a big smile,
For soon they'll be all grown,
Their time is mine for a short while.

They do grow up to quick...I so enjoy keeping my two granddaughters now three and four...I watched as the four year old enjoyed her open house for preschool the other day...as I watched her walk into the classroom with confidence I was reminded of how quickly time passes by. Enjoy them my friend, as I will too...all too soon we'll be buying things for proms, dances and graduations....life goes on, doesn't stand still for anyone! Let's enjoy!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

True very true. They grow up so fast and change interest and these family seem to be less important. They call it progress. Victor

Rose, just pull them close to your chest and enjoy the beauty of playing with them...they want to win all the time. This is a beautiful memory of those you love. I thank you for sharing.

LOL, yeah kids have to win at any cost with any rules they make up.. lol... My son would cry on the snakes, then he'd decide he was meant to be on a ladder....

Enjoy the little stars every second you have them...
