A Life Fulfilled

You dressed me in my finery,
Of jewels and sparkled gems so fine,
You took me out of the wild,
Into a charming place in time.
You showered me with a family,
The greatest you could give.
You made my life the happiest,
That one could want to live.

Your charm, your gentleness,
What more could I desire.
 But to have you by my side,
You've been my life's inspire.
Though the years are slowly passing,
The children are now gone.
We have our future plans laid out,
For our lives, that can't be wrong.

The grandkids shower us with hugs,
 They visit with us every day.
We feel their love surround us,
As their hearts don't go astray.
Soon they'll be all grown up,
With a life and future dreams.
Of those who'll share their happiness,
Of all their hopes and schemes.

Tomorrow things will slow down,
As old age will catch up to us.
We'll feel we are to them a burden,
For us they will make a fuss.
We'll still enjoy their company, 
As they bring great-grandkids to play.
And we'll be ever so thankful,
 We've lived to fulfill each and everyday.
