My husband went out to clear the walkway to the car, as fast as he could plough and shovel it was filling in and so I had to take a picture as we get hit with 60 cm of snow today. This is our walkway to the car.

The Chills

It's cold and it's blistery,
It chills you to the bone,
You look all around,
You find you're not alone.
The neighbor's out there too,
Trying to clear a way,
Just in case there's an emergency,
You may have to get away.
Can't see across the street,
For the blowing snow that falls,
People can't seem to walk straight,
They have a hard time just to crawl.
The kind of day to just relax,
Stay put as out the window you look,
Find a cozy blankie to snuggle
Inside with a fire and a good book,
You look through the fine snow,
Feel the chills go through your bones,
Then think of how lucky you are,
To be in the comfort of your home.

Huh, I like Fee's idea.

Sorry, I didn't know the notifications were down. Just thought everyone was busy and not posting.

This is why I like living where I live. We get a day like this once every 10-15 years. Couldn't handle it much more often.

Stay warm and smile.

Yes, looks much prettier from inside. I'm glad other people do the shoveling around here where we are getting a fair share also. Looks pretty it does. Lady J

Good day to snuggle under a blanket with a fire burning and a hot chocolate while watching old Clint Eastward movies or just stay in bed and have sex all morning.

Then think of how lucky you are,
To be in the comfort of your home.

We should all be doing that far more often, and helping those who are not as fortunate as we are.

Almost 5 ft of snow!! we get two inches and the country halts.
Do dogs n cats drown? Snow shoes or swim to work I guess....
Must be a great sight.

That's more snow than I want. Just think of the people who have to get to work in that horrible snow such as nurses, firemen, police. And getting back home to your family if you get stuck at work. Yes, I would have loved to snuggle up in a blanket and read a book. Of course, this town becomes paralysed with the first flake. lol. I admire those of you who live way up north. God bless. Thoroughly enjoyed. Liz

Very good job. Nothing beats a book you can't put down, blanket as you say, and a nice steaming cuppa nearby. It's living. Cheers

We are having an ice storm here in Connecticut, and our governor has asked everyone to stay off the roads unless it is an emergency.
I can relate to this chilly poem...Much warmth peace, love, and light,

Much truth in this Wintry poem that effects those caught in its midsts and may not have their warm home to go to with no electricity due to ice storms. Still the poem still warms the cockles of my heart.

Well written Rose. Sounds like the same kind of weather we're getting here in the White Mountains of New Hampshire cept' we have about 2 feet so far with more snow fallin' til 7 AM Monday morning. Probably end up with 3 feet by the time it's over. Quite blustery here too. Not even winter yet.
