I Waited For You
I waited for you long through the night,
I wondered why you weren't at home,
I laid there waiting anxiously,
Beneith the bed sheets all alone.
My mind began to wander,
Of to another time in my life,
A time when I wasn't so contented,
A time when I wasn't your wife.
I knew that somewhere on the road,
You were racing to come home to me,
To hold in your arms my love,
My all, that was your destiny.
The cold wind it is blowing,
The night is so dark and grey,
Things don't get no brighter dear,
When you are gone so far away.
Love is how the mind works,
When things seem to be so right,
I'll close my eyes and patiently wait,
For your return back home tonight.
The wind may strongly blow,
The snow may fall to the ground.
The one thing we are certain of,
Is the love that we surround.
