I look at you and you are in my heart little girl, evern thought I am suppose to let you grow I can't seem to let you go yet. Who is it that really hurts. I look at you from a distance and my heart breaks for there hasn't been enough time. The days and the years have cheaed me from you little girl and I wonder of you feel about it too, for even though it hurts to let you go you will always be my little girl and I will always love you.

Poem Artwork

I Look At You My Little One
When I saw you standing there alone,
I felt as though your world had caved in,
The tears in your eyes alone,
Filled my heart with sadness.
There was nothing I could say or do,
For you were all grown, an adult now.

Needing your own space to roam,
Needing to make your own decisions in life,
Wanting to find Mr. Right,
Settle down with a family of your own,
Making him the perfect wife.

How I still felt the need,
The need to protect you from life,
From the hurt and pain you would feel,
A broken heart from a lost love,
A pain my dear little one,
A pain that is more than real.

But no you had to do this on your own,
and I had to step back,
I had to let you trip over love,
And pray that you would pick yourself up,
Mend your broken heart,
And move on to a brighter start.

 Today and maybe even tomorrow,
You are just my child, but in time,
yes in time I will let you go,
I will back away and let you move forward,
Not too far for I will always feel your pain,
I will share your happiness and I little one,
Will help mend your broken heart.
I am and always will be your mom,
I will love you today and tomorrow as I have
With all the yesterdays,
For you are and always will be,
My little girl as you have been from the start.

Yes, there is a time that the apron strings need to be severed albeit hard and to let them venture in this world to live and learn what we have and to hope that we have giving them the necessary tools to cope with what encounters that they may and the knowledge to know that we will always be there for them no matter what.

Beautiful write dear sis and yes it is a hard thing to let them go. But as you know we have to let them lead their own lives, as much as we want to keep them near, to protect them from all harm. It's in our hearts, love and thoughts where they will always remain. We have to hope and pray to God that they are always safe, never to come to harm.

Love you sis,
Selena

A most beautiful affirmation of mother's love for child! So hard to let 'em go and grow, but they have need to write their own life's book. She'll know your love will allow certain protections. A loving tribute for your beautiful "Little One".

Rose,
A beautiful tribute to Mothers who must raise their children proudly and watch them grow up painfully, and finally watch them leave the protective nest we have build around them. What a beautiful daughter you have Rose, I am sure she will make the right decision's in her life. You have instilled inside her heart values that will NEVER leave her and your LOVE will be with her always.

Love,
~Linda

Sometimes we only can wish, because nobody is come to help us or recognize that we are trying to help.
In a going more and more twisted world, everything is looked upon with twisted eyes, and perverted laws take sides with the wrong part more often than not, when they say sorry to us...why that cant help?
Yes, when we look at our little ones...

A fathers love is as powerful, in some cases more so. Yet I sure know what you mean, I'll always see my lad as a 4 yr old, rather than a lad who is being brainwashed against the one person whom really loves him...

It is so painful to watch especially first steps out into the world. Motherhood is one big slow goodbye to our children as they advance through the stages of life. And children always come back. Your love will be a beacon for them. Wonderful write. Liz

Her knowing you are there for her is what's important. As long as she has that comfort, she'll bounce back. Lovingly written and she's a beauty!

A Mother's love is always the strongest and most felt inside. A wonderful, heart-felt write.

To know when to let go and stand aside is one of the hardest things a parent has to do but... the wise parent also recognizes that if they do not then they are dooming their children to never have the true opportunity to grow up and learn what life is about. We all learn from our experiences and our mistakes and though sometimes as a mother or a father it pains us not to reach out and fix things...sometimes the best thing we can do is let them hurt now and then for that is how they learn.

So emotionally driven and the love you have for your daughter is surely a mothers love. Sometimes I believe they grow up faster than what one is ever ready for, but grow up they do. Beautiful and very heartfelt write....

Be always safe,
Karen

It is so hard to shelter and release simultaneously - such a bittersweet reality - growth towards rebirth.
