I asked my brother if I wrote the song to be sung at my funeral, if he would put the music to it and he agreed. I hope I won't need it for a good many years yet, but you never know when our Father is going to call us home. When He does we must be prepared. So Here's my words.

Heaven Has A Window
July 9,2008
Words Written by
 Rose Marie Rideout

The time has come when we must part;
I know you're crying, it's broken your heart.
You go off alone and think of me, as you cry

Questioning God, you took her, tell us why

Please don't be sad because I'm gone,
I'm at rest now, where I belong.

Chorus:

Heaven has a window up above,
It’s crystal clear you see,
I’ll be watching you every moment,
I’ll smile as you, all look up at me.
I know at times you’ll be lonely,
Just remember I can see,
Through the windows of Heaven,
Watching each time you think of me.

    Nights will come and go,

The weeks turn to another year,
We’ll not forget fond memories made.
Of our love, through every tear.
I lived to be (     )years old,
My life and love I gave to all of you alone,
Now I have to leave all of you dear,
My father now has called me to go home.

Repeat Chorus

Before you close your eyes tonight,
Think of all the love we’ve had,
Now I’ve been called to heaven above,
Don’t cry, please don’t be sad.
Remember what your heart can hold,
      The love we've shared unconditionally,
For we were blessed with many years,
With a love shared by all of you and  me.

              Through the windows of Heaven,
Watching you each time you think of me.

Rose, may your years be long & full of great joy, this is a beautiful song with expressions of a love that is strong and solid. I can almost hear it to music - you do a great job at anything you write.

Who guarenteed you a place in heaven...just kidding. I am sure you will have a grand seat up there and maybe toss down a bottle of ice water or Diet Pepsi for your poor cousin down below. Lovely song though Rose but for me I want something more along the line of...
We'll rant and we'll roar like true Newfoundlanders, we'll rant and we'll roar on deck and below...

hugs

Heaven Has A Window - marvelously penned, Rose, and a truly heartfelt song. But I hope your brother won't need it for a very long time.

Very appropriate for your funeral when time comes. Hopefully your brother will abide by your wishes. This is a poem that leaves something of you behind and puts to rest the times you spent on earth.-
