It Won’t Be Long
08-09-2008
Written By: Rose Marie Rideout

I watched you as you rode of on your bike,
In the quiet early hours of the day,
You made me promise not to worry,
While you were gone away.

I told you that I’d be okay,
I’d sleep and get some rest,
You gave me that look that told me,
I think you knew best.

You said I hate to leave you again,
I know alone you don’t do well,
I promised I’d be okay,
I didn’t say I’d go through hell.

It’s only for sixteen days,
That I’ll be here all alone,
I’ll not think of you once,
Before I know it you’ll be home.

I want you to be happy,
Don’t let that Harley collect dust,
Don’t let it just sit there,
You know it could possibly rust.

I’ll have to grow up one day,
It may as well be this time of year,
I have to spend so much time alone,
I’ll have to get over my fear.

It won’t be long before you’re back,
In to my arms once more,
I’ll be there to welcome you dear,
When you come through that door.

Gurl.... I'd Say "Git'ur'self" Some Leather! "git'ur'self" some chaps & wrap your legs around the back of him on that bike & enjoy!!
There is such a wonderful feeling about Leather & Harleys :) OH MAN!!

But aside from that...(maybe you don't like to ride) it is a good thing to let partners do their thing & have freedom to be happy too.
Hopefully the trip will fly by....
Much Love & Happiness To you

A Harley without road dust is a sissy Harley, and believe me out there ain't no sissy Harley nowhere, and riding one girl, yes, "It Won't be Long"

Sometimes it's hard to say good-bye to a loved one, even for a little while. Beautiful poem.

The honesty of your concern and of your temporary loss is so well shared in this. Missing someone is always difficult but it is part of love, dear Rose.

I know it is a worry to you to let him go off on that cycle. I do so worry about Kathy and Jim when they take a trip. This year they went to Finger's lakes, NY. Got there safely and back home again. I cannot rest knowing they are on those cycles. Hate them. But if you love them, then you make use of them. Your time will go fast especially while you stay in touch on the den.
