Thanksgiving In Our Home & Hearts

As I prepare our dinner of Turkey,
Ham and trimmings for my guest,
I think of those who does without,
Are we all put to a test.
I offer to help others by donating
to the shelters & soup kitchens for all,
 I can’t bare to know someone’s hungry,
And cold now that it is fall.
I set the table with my finery,
Everything is looking just great,
Time to be thankful for all,
We’ll share our thanks that can’t wait.
I know that I am thankful,
For the life that I am living,
For warmth, a roof over my head and
the family I’ve been given.
For all the love I’ve received,
For the food we share today,
I thank the Lord above for all,
For our good health I pray.
I pray that others Lord,
Will have their fill of food today,
A place to rest their weary heads,
A chance to find a new way,
So that they too can find comfort,
Joy and love on this earth,
To start a brand new life,
As though it were a brand new birth.
 I thank you Lord today,
For my family and friends and love,
But more then anything,
I thank you for your understanding
guidance from above.
