So many people are hurting this time of year and it breaks my heart that I can't seem to reach out to all so I am asking for Santa to fill my wish list.

My Letter To Santa
November 25, 2008

Dear Santa,
I have read many letters today from folks far away,
They’re not asking for much to fulfill their day,
They ask for food and shelter and love,
They’re keeping their faith in God above.

I’m trying real hard to help those I can,
So many are hurting, they need a helping hand.
My husband just smiles and says do what you can,
I tell you dear Santa, he’s one hell of a man.

But I know there’s only so much we can do,
So I am asking that you help me take care of a few.
Help fill their stockings with peace here on earth,
Start their new year with a new found birth.

May things look brighter in days that lay ahead,
May they enjoy the season instead of it being a dread.
I don’t need anything for me Santa this year,
Give it to others, that only seems fear.

Keep them warm and out of the cold overnight,
Fill their stomachs with food, make them smile bright.
Find them a family a place to call home,
Don’t let them be lost and feeling alone.

Let them know that others really do care,
Help them dear Santa not to shed another fallen tear,
Just one wish would help see most of them through,
Food, shelter and peace in our world to mention a few.

Now I’ll say a prayer for all who are in a needy way,
That help will come to you on this blessed day.
Never lose faith, for Help will be there,
From some dear heart, to show that they care.

I’ve been a good girl all year long,
Helping others can’t be all that wrong.
I'll even forget I asked for that home,
In Nova Scotia so I can again roam.

I know I can find a nice place to live,
Whatever the cost Santa, just give, give, give.
Though Santa I'll ask for one thing this year,
Help me to help others, not shed another fallen tear.

You know, the more I read your writing, the more I realize what a fantastic writer you are, one of the best on the Den. Your poetry is always very tight, your rhymes on spot-you also always get across so much emotion, heart and soul in your poems, and these things are admirable and make for great reading, and that is what makes good poetry-and you make it seem so easy. This poem is the best Santa one I have read so far, and I feel the same as you. Blessings, Michelle

If Santa were God, he'd be giving you wings, Rose. This is sublime and the greatest gift from a deeply-loving soul. Fabulous sentiments, Rose and may your wish come true. Helping others to hurt less is the greatest of gifts and comes with a selfless price-tag attached. You're a very special person and I'm sure your request is heard. xx

All so true and blessings come across the miles like a blanket of hope offered to all in need. This just has to make the best Christmas ever, one that comes from the heart, filled with love with a bretheran attitude for all. God bless you Rose....

Be always safe,
Karen

Heartwarming reminder; we should do our part to help those who are less fortunate this Christmas/Thanksgiving season, and NOT just the CHILDREN!! There are PLENTY of adults who need help; I know. I'm one of them!!

Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow; may it be full of God's bounty!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

Nice slant rhyme,

Find them a family a place to call home,
Don’t let them be lost and feeling alone.

Home alone...that says it all for me!

Rose,

A loving, compassionate reach ... should not be left up to Santa. Why can't we be his elves? Well done, and may you find extra under your Christmas tree, for being a blessing to others, in deed and in word. God bless you!

(((HUGS))), love and Happy Thanksgiving, Karla.

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
