Fee had sent me some pics of the deer out in the back of his place and all I could think of was them trying to find a safe place to rest from danger.

The Stillness Of The Morn
January 18,2009
Written By: Rose Marie Rideout

Peaceful is the early morning rise,
Just a crisp crackling of the snow covered ground.
The stars from heaven surround us,
The twinkling from the Angels teardrops sparkle.
Silently we trod on icy waters,
Searching for family and friends resting within the forest.
Soon we will be among the many dangers of man,
Those out to torture God’s nature, the innocent.
We fear for our life and what was the reason,
A game to them and their ego,
I look around in the distance and see,
So much beauty surround us, for how long.
Do man not understand we fear, we cry for our parents,
We feel pain and we hurt just like you.
Please let us rest and survive for our family and
The Stillness of another Beautiful Morn

Rose, shouldn't everybody start to ack like humans and cut out with that "sport" call hunting, trapping, snaring just for the heck of it?
Is bullfighting really a bullfight? Is while fishing tuna decimating a shoal of dolphins, fishing?
2009 should be the dawn of better way of life, because if we don't respect the beauty out there...sonn will be having nothing to respect.

Wow! That is one awesome photo! Very passionately recited, prayer like in tribute to all our friends of the outer world who only seek peace and sanctuary as we do....

Be always safe,
Karen

Touching. I've never shot a deer and after reading this I know I never will. Excellent deep perspective. Liz

hey sis this is so beautiful, I love the little creatures so much and really do appreciate your words. But also like our cuz Felix says it is true we do need to keep down the population as well.

love you sis, xoxoxoxoxo

I do love this write and it does sound like you are the voice of the deer. I also love to see my three deer make an appearance and I put out apples as treats for them.
Now all that being said, as a hunter, I must also speak out on behalf of the legitimate hunters out there. The deer hunt is needed to thin the herds and keep them healthy. Without it they have few natural predators and two things happen...first a lot of them starve to death for lack of food, and second they become urban deer and far too many get killed by cars, trucks and packs of dogs.
So if a hunter eats what he kills and follows the regulations I have no problem with that.

Very nice Rose...to feel the spirit of the animal world is to know Nature and to know there is a God watching us from above...

enjoyed...

Beutiful sentiments, and one of my favorite pastimes is walking in the snowy wood at dawn, watching the deer in their natural home.
