The Diffference n Our Lives

Amazing how we feel,
When in the surf and sun,
Watching how other cultures strive,
While we are out just for fun.
The different way they survive,
From one day to the next,
When taking home a pay cheque,
Is what we’ve grown to expect.
Could we depend on our talents,
To provide food and shelter for kin,
What is it that we could do,
Would we know where to begin.
What they have they freely offer,
Smiles they so willingly share,
Accepting you’re bickering offers,
To show how much they care.
They tell me this is the way of life,
The right way to play the game,
But my eyes open wide to their needs,
I can’t play, I’d hang my head in shame.
Beautiful dogs left by the wayside,
Left to starve and slowly die,
My heart jumped right in at the sight,
Inside I began to gently cry.
They don’t see what I see before me,
For they face this every single day,
Houses falling to the ground,
They say this is their way.
Yet they welcome you with a smile,
Everyday into their home,
Willing to share everything they have,
Never making you feel different or alone.

and saw first hand how people around the world
That don't have much always go out of their was to make
strangers feel at home and share what little they possess
Good to see you back

There are though so many wealth donating to help the causes...and they are beautiful!
I have lived both ways, and the LORD was with me in both times.
Welcome back, Sweet Lady, and I'm glad you enjoyed the trip. Yes, there are many things that open our eyes and disturb us and we can't help feeling sorry and guilty almost. What strikes me is the ability and capacity of less fortunate people to rise above their misery and not be beaten down by circumstance, the spirit that survives and triumphs in the end. Thank you for this, Rose, and again, welcome home.

Welcome home. :) You've been missed!
Powerful reminder of what we have here, in North America - why we need to reach out with love and compassion to those truly in need - in our own backyard, and throughout the world. Well done.
Got your land legs back? LOL (Took me two weeks to stop feeling like I was rocking)
