What can we do to protect our innocent children. Too many suffer daily. The law isn't strick enough for those who hurt our children. Most of those kids never get through this and are in pain all their lives. This has nothing to do with me but others I am close to.

Maybe, Just Maybe
August 28, 2009
Written by: Rose Marie Rideout

Maybe if he cannot see me,
I’ll be safe here all alone,
Maybe just maybe if I pray enough,
he’ll just leave our home.

Maybe Mommy will here me,
She hears my every sound,

Please God let her hear me now,
Before he comes around.

He said that she has gone away,
That we are here all alone,
Maybe, just maybe if he can’t find me,
He’ll just leave our home.
I smell this awfull odor,
He makes me drink it too,
He swears I want to please him,
In all he makes me do.

I can’t cry any harder,
I fear for what he’s already done,
Please God, please help me now,
Give me a safe place to run.
Tell me it is time to go,
That you know I am not here alone,
Maybe, just maybe,
God you can take me home

This universal and seemingly timeless theme is sad and tragic indeed, Rose. Love and best wishes,

Dear Rose how true is what you wrote. Many children are suffering in silence, thank you for giving them a voice. Love Emile

Like Fee said, no punishment will be harsh enough and yet many a human monster go free to do it again and again.

Heartwrenching that this happens to innocent children. "Such dark evil lurks in the hearts of some"...there is no punishment sufficient for someone who steals a child's innocence. Good job, Rose. This is something that needs to be said out loud everywhere. Children's voices are so very small.

Hugs,
Anna

I have an article "Emotional Wealth" it offers help through EMDR Therapy which is designed to help all traumatic events in ones life. The words you express here in this poem take me to this same conversations I have had with God when I was a child, or please help me fall asleep. If this is a silent child within you, or anyone whom reads this EMDR can help resolve the emotional & mental damages, the scars which remain & show theirself through depression, anxiety, fear & so much more....

Oh, my, God, Rose. This is, I hope, nothing more than words from your imagination not a remembrance of truth, although, I am sure, powerful words such as these are someone's truth. Scarily written,
Your friend, Mark

SAD BUT all too true write for the thousands of children who live through this terrible crime. No punishment is harsh enough for the ones who do this.
